This year we had two
film crews along on the Tuesday which was an interesting exercise.
BBC 2 have commissioned two one hour documentaries, one on King
George the V and the other on Queen Mary. One of the researchers
went through our archive in July and she was so struck by the
work Queen Mary did with the Guild that they decided to film
part of View Day and the packing up process. These programmes
are due to be shown before Christmas on BBC 2.
BFBS (British
Forces Broadcasting Service) and Veteran’s Aid, one of
the charities we support, decided to produce a programme tracking
a garment from the warehouse to the person who eventually receives
it. This programme will be shown to British Forces Families
both in the UK and those serving abroad. To view please click

then play the film.
We would
like to thank everybody who came along to help or just to visit
us. We now have 48 Groups throughout the UK which is wonderful.
It is important that the Guild continues to grow, if you would
like to join us please visit our How to Help page.
