Sharon, Donna and their mum Barbara, along with a team of wonderful Guild knitters, worked flat out leading up to Easter creating really beautiful and unique hand knitted novelty covers for chocolate eggs, of which 375 have been sold! This has raised a substantial amount of money – all of of which will be used to buy brand new clothing and bedding for distribution to the 60+ UK wide charities we will support at Packing Week this October.
Knitting, crocheting and hand stitching have been the Guild’s life blood for nearly 140 years, so it is wonderful that these skills continue to be at the heart of what we do, and to be raising such wonderful sums of money. Sharon and her family worked tirelessly right up to Easter weekend putting together Easter boxes of these lovely knitted items with chocolate eggs, all sent out with a personalised message and one of our new leaflets. Not only a fantastic way to raise much needed funds, the brilliant customer feedback on the QMCG Etsy Shop shows what a great way this is of spreading the word about our wonderful charity. A HUGE thank you to Sharon, Donna, Barbara and each of you for giving your time and talent to raise this incredible sum of money.
